How to Change a Drill Chuck

Follow these three easy steps to remove a drill chuck:

  1. Loosen the screw in the middle of the chuck, if there is one. If not, you can use your Allen key to go right in. Just put it in the front of the chuck the same way you’d put a drill bit in, and clamp it in place.
  2. Put your spanner on the back of the chuck, and then remove it. This can be done by hand or in a vice.
  3. Use the Allen key to turn the chuck and take it off the shaft.
